15% Carbon Filled PTFE material is a high-performance plastic composite that blends virgin PTFE with carbon fibres or powder. It offers higher compressive strength, superior wear life, and better dimensional stability than pure PTFE while retaining excellent chemical resistance.
The most common carbon percentages in PTFE are 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25%. Carbon fibre raises hardness, lowers creep, and increases compressive and flexural modulus. The advantage of using carbon fibre instead of glass fibre is that it is inert to HF and strong bases.

15% Carbon Filled PTFE material is developed to provide a PTFE-based material with improved mechanical strength. It has excellent mechanical and wear properties, retains excellent frictional properties and is an excellent choice for seals and rings in dynamic and high-pressure applications.
Applications
15% carbon-filled PTFE material is ideal for seal components for static and dynamic applications and against chromium plating and steel. It is also suitable for piston rings, compression rings operating in non-lubricated environments, and high-pressure hydraulic seals.
