Description
15% Ekonol-filled PTFE is a high-performance composite material composed of 85% PTFE and 15% Ekonol (an aromatic polyester). It provides superior wear resistance and high-temperature stability. It acts as a non-abrasive self-lubricator, making it a top choice for high-speed, high-temperature components running against soft mating surfaces.
Advantages
Unlike glass-filled PTFE, 15% Ekonol-filled PTFE compounds will not damage, score, or wear out steel or soft-metal counter-materials. Adding Ekonol improves dimensional stability and load-bearing capacity and reduces deformation under load. It exhibits a very low coefficient of friction, providing superior performance in dry, high-wear environments.
Applications
- High-temperature pump and valve components
- Wear rings, guide rings, and piston rings
- Heavy-duty shaft and mechanical seals
- Bearings
