Welcome to Learning About the 40% Bronze-Filled PTFE Tube
Compared to standard PTFE, the 40% bronze-filled PTFE tube has a higher load-bearing capability since it is composed of 60% pure PTFE and 40% bronze powder. The 40% bronze filler in PTFE makes PTFE much better at conducting heat, helps it resist wear, and reduces deformation when under permanent load.
Advantages
The characteristics of the 40% bronze-filled PTFE tube are as follows:
- Very low friction coefficient: it is non-stick and practically a solid lubricant
- Outstanding chemical resistance to nearly every aggressor, with the exception of potent oxidisers
- Outstanding resistance to temperatures up to 260°C, both hot and low
- It has outstanding UV and weather resistance
- Harder than virgin PTFE
- High heat conductivity
Applications
The 40% bronze-filled PTFE tub is one of the most efficient and long-lasting composite materials available. Its combination of bronze metal support and PTFE’s low friction qualities makes it ideal for bearings, seals, piston rings, and valve parts in industrial and aerospace applications.
