Description

EPDM o-rings, or ethylene propylene o-rings, are a family of synthetic elastomers with low-cost steam and chemical resistance. The O-rings offer superior resistance to water and steam. EPDM is a type of synthetic rubber that is popular for a broad spectrum of applications. EPDM is one of the most versatile and durable rubbers available, providing outstanding heat, weather, and ozone resistance.

Advantages and Benefits

EPDM O-rings offer outstanding heat, weather, and ozone resistance. The O-rings provide long-lasting sealing power in temperatures ranging from -50°C to 130°C

Applications

Our peroxide-cured EPDM O-rings meet the FDA standard requirements for food applications. Those O-rings are recommended for use with acetone, automotive brake fluid, Skydrol, steam, and water. Their cost is low, and they have excellent steam and chemical resistance, particularly in applications involving solvents, acids, and other mild chemicals.

They are often used in automotive manufacturing, medical devices, water and wastewater systems, and other challenging applications.

EPDM has limited compatibility with most mineral- and petroleum-based oils and is rarely used in those applications.
