Welcome to Learning About Flange Insulation Gasket Kit
The flange insulation gasket kit is designed for use with piping flanges to provide cathodic protection and prevent galvanic corrosion of the flanges. The whole kit comes standard with one isolating gasket, one isolation sleeve per bolt hole, two isolation washers per bolt hole, and two backing washers per bolt hole.
The flange insulation gasket kit includes a sealing element integrated into the gasket to ensure effective sealing integrity between the flanges. Our standard kits include a G10 gasket with a Viton seal, either G10 or Mylar sleeves, double G10 insulating washers and ZPS (zinc-plated steel) backing washers.
Applications
The flange insulation gasket kit is an excellent choice for isolating distribution lines and transport lines for gas, oil & water. It is the best available product for filtering welding slag, nuts, bolts and other particulates from damaging valves, pumps, compressors, etc. As it has exceptional resistance to creep relaxation, it performs extremely well in heat exchangers.
Gasket Types
It is available in type F, type E, and type D.
Type E (full-face flange)
The gasket retainer extends out to the O.D. of the flange. It has holes to help studs and sleeves go through the gasket.
Type F (raised-face flange)
The gasket retainer extends out to the I.D. of the bolt circle. The threaded studs and sleeves centre the gasket within the flange.
Type D
The Type D gasket is designed to fit into the ring groove of RTJ (ring-type joint) flanges. It comes in both octagonal and basic oval shapes.
