What is the difference between G10 and FR4?
G10 is distinguished by its superior mechanical and electrical qualities, although it lacks flame retardancy. FR4 can obtain a UL94 V-0 grade for flame retardancy by adding flame retardants to G10; however, doing so raises costs and might slightly weaken some mechanical qualities.
All in all, G-10 is closely related to FR-4 glass epoxy, but FR-4 is fire retardant.
