What is Graphite-filled PTFE?
Graphite-filled PTFE is a high-performance composite material made by blending virgin PTFE with graphite powder (usually 5% to 25%). The graphite filler acts as a solid lubricant, resulting in the material having the lowest coefficients of friction. It has superior self-lubricating properties, exceptional wear resistance, and high thermal conductivity.
The most common graphite percentages in PTFE are 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25%. Graphite and carbon are always used together with PTFE.

Graphite-filled PTFE material has exceptional chemical resistance in corrosive environments and excellent wear resistance in both dry and wet environments. It has a low coefficient of friction compared to other filled PTFE materials and excellent wear properties.
Applications
Graphite-filled PTFE material is suitable for dynamic reciprocating and rotary applications. It is also ideal for rider rings, pistons, and wear-resistant gaskets and seals.
