Welcome to Know Mylar Tubing
Mylar tubing is the most widely acknowledged and industry-approved sleeve material. It is the chosen material for bolt isolation because it is very resistant to galvanic corrosion.
Is Mylar® the Same as Polyester?
The answer is yes. DuPont Teijin Films invented the brand name Mylar® for its polyester film.
Mylar® polyester is a forceful, long-lasting, translucent film with exceptional tensile, tear, and impact strength. It is water- and vapour-resistant and does not transmit oils, greases, or volatile aromatics. DuPont developed it in the mid-1950s.
Advantages
The Mylar tubing has high temperature resistance, tear onset, and puncture resistance. It is also very resistant to chemicals as well as oil, grease, and moisture.
Applications
The Mylar tubing is ideal for general electrical insulator applications and bolt protection due to its high dielectric strength and low water absorption. It is also employed in a variety of applications, including electrical insulation and thermal or chemical protection in the electromechanical and automotive industries.
