What is a Non-shrink Mylar Sleeve?
The non-shrink Mylar sleeve is a safe, chemically inert, and highly rigid polyester tube that retains its shape under high heat. It offers robust protection, optical clarity, and dielectric isolation.
The Difference between Non-shrink Mylar and Shrink Mylar
The main difference between non-shrink and shrink Mylar is their thermal stability. Non-shrink Mylar resists shape changes when heated, while shrink Mylar is not heat-stabilised; it shrinks tightly around objects when exposed to heat.
Application
Non-shrink Mylar tubes serve as mechanical and electrical insulators in engineering applications. Because they do not shrink, they provide a precise and firm fit for components.
It is best for isolating bolts in industrial flanges to prevent galvanic corrosion and insulating electrical wires and transformers.
