Silicone O-rings

We offer FDA food-grade silicone seals and o-rings. Contact us for any O-rings you need.

Description

Silicone o-rings are excellent seal materials for high temperatures in static environments. They have outstanding flex and fatigue life, strong ozone and UV radiation resistance, and physiologically neutral and insulating properties. They also offer a wide range of characteristics and compositions, providing exceptional performance versatility.

Silicone is also called VMQ.

We sell standard and non-standard O-ring sizes and can custom-make sizes on request, often without tooling fees.

Advantages

  • Excellent heat and compression resistance, excellent flexibility, good electrical insulator
  • Excellent resistance to oxygen, ozone and sunlight, animal and vegetable oil and grease
  • Resistance to fungal and biological attack
  • Can be compounded to meet FDA standard
  • Excellent water sealing

Those are reasons why silicone O-rings are widely used.

Weakness

  • Low strength and poor abrasion resistance
  • Concentrated acids and alkalis
  • Not resistant to silicone oils
  • Steam over 120ºC (248ºF)
  • Petroleum oils and fuels
  • Ketones

Applications

Silicone o-rings are suitable for use in food and beverage production lines, as well as medical and pharmaceutical manufacturing. In real-world use, they are commonly installed in pumps, valves, fittings, fillers, and processing equipment. They are an excellent choice for customers who need FDA food contact compliance.
