Welcome to Learning about 25% Glass-Filled PTFE
25% glass-filled PTFE material is a reinforced PTFE material. It is pure PTFE with 25% glass fibers added as fillers to improve the mechanical properties of the material. Glass fiber increases the wear and creep resistance of PTFE. It is the most common PTFE filler. 25% glass-filled PTFE has a higher coefficient of friction but better extrusion resistance than pure PTFE materials.
The material is available in rod, tube, and sheet forms.
Application
25% glass-filled PTFE is typically used in seal components for dynamic applications. The material is very commonly used in valve seat applications. It also prefers a lubricated environment and is used to seal against steel, stainless steel, and chromium-plated surfaces.
Key Properties
- Very Low Coefficient of Friction
- Excellent Chemical Resistance
- Excellent Dielectric Properties
- Resistance to Weathering
- Self-Lubricating
