Monel 400 Spiral Wound Gasket Centering Ring Material

When the Monel 400 spiral wound gasket is CG or CGI type, it will have a centering ring also called outer ring. The outer ring can locate the gasket on the mating flange faces, so it can prevents over compression of the sealing element and ensure the best sealing performance.

The gasket centering ring material is often made from carbon steel, as it is cheap choice. However, the manufacturer may also use some stainless steel like SS304 or SS306 as customers’ requirement.
